Beck does INXS

Beck has invited fellow muso's to create and share their own take on the INXS album Kick. Personally I think Beck can do no wrong and this project showcases his talents and impeccable tastes all the more.

Head here and here to make up your own mind.

Priceless

What do you call over 90 Alexander McQueen outfits, 50 Philip Treacy hats and a collection of Manolo Blahnik shoes all owned by the late and great Isabella Blow?

An auction will be held on September 15 by Christie's in London on behalf of the Blow estate.

Grunge

If you love the 90's as much as I do, you will love this book. I picked it up because it's called Grunge, and because I expected lots of photos of Cobain, Courtney and other hygienically challenged kids. I wasn't disappointed. Even more interesting though are the images from the late 70's and 80's, chronicling the styles and 'non fashion' statements of it's subjects. Get it here.

2 loves in 1

My fav Estevan Oriol photo on a hoodie. Two of my greatest loves have found each other at last. At Upper Playground.

The MCA lives on

Thanks to a hefty $15 million private donation, the long planned renovations to Sydney's MCA will finally go ahead. Beginning this June, the new wing will increase the size of the gallery by two thirds and include the National Centre for Creative Learning and new gallery space. Good news after too many rumors about the gallery having to close is doors!

Tim Gunn to the rescue

Tim Gunn as Iron Man, featured in a marvel comic called "Models Inc". He rocks the super hero to save a fashion exhibition from villians. Awesome illo done by Phil Jimenez.

Love of Lego

A (sneaky) photo taken at the MCA's Olafur Eliasson exhibition that finished up last week. Visitors were encouraged to play and construct with the all white lego pieces, and there were some masterpieces. Below is the only photo I was allowed to take before being scolded by MCA staff. Which are much more intimidating than any thug security guard.

Aurel Schmidt

Aurel Schmidt draws, paints and takes photos I think... Her drawings are beautiful and ugly at the same time, which I guess is her point.
